I am here wishing for my children to all be together for Christmas. I have 2 step children that live in Virginia with their mother. We have all exhausted all avenues trying to find a way to get them here to Georgia for Christmas. My husband was laid off in September. I work 2 jobs, 7 days a week to try and keep us from drowning. There have been a few families from our church who have helped with getting the kids some gifts for Christmas but we can't get them here. My children who live here have been very understanding, they are 14, 12 and 10. They keep telling me moma just take our presents back and go get my brother and sister. I wish it were that simple. I have checked with other churches, Salvation Army, 2-1-1 , etc but no luck. I really hate to ask our church for anything more being that they have already helped so much and there are other families out there needing help in our area as well. Can someone please help us? What we are trying to do is come up with @ $500.00 - 154.76 for a week rental car, 200.00 deposit for the car which will be refunded and returned, and 150.00 for gas. This way their mother can drive them here for Christmas and she won't be alone either. She doesn't really have much of a support group up in Virginia. We tried to lower the amount we needed by her asking to borrow one of her mom's cars but she said no. I'm begging! Someone please help us! God bless and Merry Christmas!
